Yes, a sponsor can partially fund a child.
This type of arrangement is referred to as “co-sponsorship,” where funds from two or more sponsors are used to meet the needs of the same child.
A prospective sponsor is given access to the profiles and budgets of registered children for selection.
The sponsor fills out a sponsorship form to begin the process.
The sponsor makes payments according to the budget of the selected child. The sponsor may choose to pay monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annually.
Every month, the sponsor is given access to detailed accounts and scanned receipts.
Every quarter of the year, a progress report about the child being sponsored is sent to the sponsor, including school report cards.
The Good Purpose Project team work with the parents or guardians, as well as the school administrators of all sponsored children to determine the average monthly cost of their feeding, education, school supplies and healthcare.
The budget is drawn up according to the specific needs of each child.
Our field supervisor and team visit deprived communities in Ghana to look for children living in extreme poverty.
A prospective child is selected based on the extent of deprivation in areas such as food, healthcare, shelter, and education.
The team members interact with their parents, guardians, and neighbors to gather as much personal information about the child as possible.
In a case where the child is enrolled in school, the team visits the child’s school to make further inquiries about the child.
After collecting as much information as possible, the supervisor then uses a standardized checklist to determine whether or not a child qualifies for sponsorship.
The project coordinator reviews the supervisor’s decision and the information collected, and then makes a final decision on whether or not the child qualifies for sponsorship
