Lydia’s father is deceased. Her mum is currently the only surviving family taking care of her and all her siblings. Lydia and her family live in a kiosk at redco, an area between Adenta ritz junction and Agbogba. By the benevolence of a school owner in their area, she has been admitted to a private school without paying fees. Though Lydia does not pay school fees, her mother is unable to pay her feeding fee in school, pay for other educational materials and feed her at home because of the insufficient income that comes from the sale of pure water.
