Gifty lives with her single mother and two siblings in a poor community. She was abandoned by her father when she was born.

Unfortunately, her mother’s only source of income comes from hawking sachet water on the streets. Her mother’s income is insufficient to adequately provide Gifty with her  basic necessities such as education, food, and healthcare.

Gifty was enrolled in a community basic school, but was forced to drop out because she had accumulated a large amount of school fee debt.

Gifty Tetely continues to face daily struggles.
